Between Katy Perry and Lady Gaga the news has been flooding in but we’re not complaining. Both music stars are clearly working hard to get back into the limelight and it’s working.

Where to start with Katy Perry, she’s announced a new single, a new album, she’s closing the MTV VMAs this Sunday in Brooklyn New York and, we’re not done yet, she’s closing this years iTunes Music Festival in London at the end of September.

Not only that but her latest single ‘Roar’ has just topped the singles chart in Ireland. This gives Katy her fourth number one single in Ireland so far.

After seven weeks at the top of the Irish chart ‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii has now slumped into second place. Elsewhere in the Irish singles  chart Ellie Goulding moves into number (3) with ‘Burn’ while ‘Counting Stars’ by OneRepublic remains at number (4).
