Katy Perry is set to remain at the top of the Official Singles Chart for another week with ‘Roar’.
According to information released by the Official Charts Company the singer sold a staggering 179,500 copies in the tracks first week on sale.
‘Roar’ has given Katy Perry her fastest selling single in the UK and has become the third fastest selling single of 2013 following in the footsteps of Avicii with ‘Wake Me Up’ and Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’.
In this mid week chart update ‘Roar’ has sold 50,000 copies this week so far.
Katy Perry knocked Ellie Goulding off the top of the charts after she spent three weeks at Number 1 with ‘Burn’.
The English singer-songwriter currently sits at Number (2).
‘Wake Me Up’ by Avicii currently sits at Number (3) while Klangkarussell’s Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine) FT Will Heard remains at Number (4) also
Hold On We’re Going Home by Drake FT Majid Jordan climbs up the chart one place this week to Number (5)
Taking a look this week at new entries Coldplay look set for this weeks highest new entry with their new single ‘Atlas’ which is taken from the new Hunger Games official soundtrack. The track enters this week chart at Number (7).
Entering the Top 10 this week is Example with ‘All The Wrong Places’ which is at Number (9).
Also entering the chart this week is Lethal Bizzle with his seventh Top 40 single ‘Party Right’ which is currently sitting at Number (26).
Soaring a staggering 92 places are Swedish House Mafia with ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ which lands in at Number (30).
Arctic Monkeys also re-enter the Top 40 this week with ‘R U Mine’ which is at Number (33) and narrowly missing out on a Top 40 last Sunday are Mutya Keisha Sionbhan who this week have climbed 10 places to Number (40) with ‘Flatline’.
Finally this week in the Official Singles Chart mid-week update are Arcade Fire who could be hearing for the Top 40 this coming Sunday with their new track ‘Reflektor’ featuring David Bowie. The track currently sits at Numbr (48).
