It seems that veteran actor Kiefer Sutherland was overcome by emotion on the last day of filming for 24.

WENN reports that as he was thanking the crew for “all their hard work” during the iconic series, despite having a pre-prepared speech, he found it difficult to say goodbye as he was near to tears.

Kiefer told the media agency about the last day of filming, saying, “It caught me off guard.

“I thought we actually, literally, had one more shot to do and they said, ‘That’s a wrap on Kiefer Sutherland and it’s a series wrap.’

“I had something in my head that I wanted to say to the crew because this was the most amazing group of people…

“And I unfortunately, as I was going to speak, locked eyes with our head gaffer… and, literally, my voice faltered… and my lip went.

“I start looking to my shoes… It was hard to let it go.”
