Thousands of lucky fans witnessed The Killers take to the stage at the 2014 V Festival this past weekend as they performed some of their biggest hits from their back catalogue.

During their set last night they entertained thousands of fans with a special cover, probably something many wouldn’t have expected… ‘Fancy’ by Iggy Azalea but that wasn’t all!

‘Fancy’ by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is lifted from her album ‘The New Classic’ and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jnr seemed to enjoy the tune more than most. He danced along as they covered it live.

The band also performed Van Morrison’s ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ and part of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Ruby Tuesday’ over the weekend.

Speaking about the cover frontman Brandon Flowers told the thousands of adoring fans at V Festival that they had been “working on something” and they wanted to show it to their fans.

Flowers, while sitting behind his keyboard then began singing the catchy hook and even changed the lyrics slightly to suit where they were.

The original version features the lyrics “from L.A. to Tokyo” but for V Festival “from Vegas to Staffordshire” was sung instead.

The Killers performing covers weren’t the only surprise during their set last night as comedian Jimmy Carr also joined them on stage.

While he didn’t sing, he did speak to the V Festival audience.

Jimmy Carr appeared on stage to gear up the fans prior to their encore before they returned to the stage to perform their massive hit ‘When You Were Young’.

Clearly the fans wanted more and would have been happy to see them perform over and over again and while this time they didn’t perform new material, we’re sure it’s coming.
