Kingdom Behind The Scenes

Kingdom – Behind the Scenes is brand new and exclusive to ITV3.
Kingdom - Behind the Scenes takes an exclusive look behind the cameras on the set of ITV’s new six-part drama starring Stephen Fry.
The one-hour documentary, combines footage from location filming and interviews with cast and crew.
Shot entirely on location in Norfolk, Kingdom - Behind the Scenes will reveal in compelling detail how such a drama series is made. The exclusive footage will take viewers on set and unearth from cast and crew secrets of the sumptuous locations, and tales of working on an all-star cast production.
Stephen Fry introduces audiences to his favourite places in his home county of Norfolk, and gives an entertaining insight into working with animals! He also talks candidly about his return to television drama after a ten year break, and why the series appealed to him.
Also included in this documentary, behind the scenes footage of the cast at Newmarket races – where rehearsing a scene comes second to having a bet!
Hermione Norris explains her new brunette look and vamp image, while Robert Bathurst reveals his feminine side as he plays a man who likes to wear women’s clothing, and Rory Bremner guest stars as a local vicar and reveals that this is a much tougher role than doing impressions.
Other exclusive interviews include Celia Imrie, Angus Imrie, Tony Slattery, Phyllida Law, Karl Davies and the series creator Simon Wheeler. Directors Sandy Johnson, Robin Sheppard, Metin Huseyin, and production designer Suzie Davies are also on camera.
Kingdom - Behind the Scenes was ordered by ITV3 Controller Emma Tennant, commissioned by Joe Talbot, and produced and directed by Sarah Cain.
Emma Tennant said “”We are thrilled to be able to bring Behind the Scenes action from the wonderful new ITV1 drama Kingdom. With exclusive access to all the cast and crew it is an opportunity to give fans of the series a real insight into how it was made. It continues the ITV3 tradition of telling the stories behind the drama in our ever-popular Behind The Scenes strand which features throughout the year.”

Really enjoyed tonight’s episode of Kingdom, especially as my work takes me to rural Norfolk at least once a month. This is really what’s needed for a sunday evening!

Enjoyable family entertainment - beautiful settings

Kingdom promises to be very watchable especially the beautiful settings. However, one thing spoilt it for me - the dreadful phoney Norfolk accents of some of the scharacters especially that awful barman. If there is really a need for a genuine Norfolk accent, and this I doubt, then get it right!!
