Kristen Johnston – I’m the poor man’s Paula Abdul
Kristen Johnston has been chatting about her new role on Ugly Betty. EW.com reported that Kristen beat Paula Abdul to the role of a temp in Mode, a fact which surprised Kristen greatly. But she explains that her character on the show is aging and ‘tragic.’
She said: “I’ve always considered myself a poor man’s Paula Abdul. [My character Helen is] Amanda (Becki Newton) in ten years. She’s still trying to get into the right clubs, wearing tight dresses… tragic.”
She added: “I think [she] sees herself as Samantha from Sex And The City. Except, of course, she’s a temp.”
