As we already told you, Twilight author Stephanie Meyer announced that ‘Twilight’ will be making its triumphant return through a series of five short films, which will debut on Facebook in 2015. The “all-female project” will be based on the characters in the original ‘Twilight’ book and will be directed by five very lucky women who will be decided by a panel made up of famous women.
On that panel of famous women will be a group of pretty huge names, including Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer, ‘Modern Family’s’ Julie Bowen, Cathy Schulman and ‘Frozen’ director Jennifer Lee and ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke. Rounding out the panel will be Bella Swan herself: Kristen Stewart.
But could we expect to see Stewart reprise her role as Bella Swan in the short films or in another big screen adaptation in the near future? Unfortunately for Twihards, not so much.
The actress was quizzed about returning to the role that made her a household name by E! Online at the AFI Film Fest premiere of her new project ‘Still Alice.’ In the film, she stars alongside Julianne Moore, who plays her mother with Alzheimer’s.
“No,” Stewart simply replied at the prospect, joking “I mean, I haven’t gotten a call yet. Make me an offer.”
The ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ actress also told the site that she “can’t wait” to take her seat on the ‘Twilight’ all-female judging panel next year. “They’re doing this really great thing,” she continued, “they’re allowing these young female filmmakers to explore what got them excited about Twilight in the first place and also to explore their own interest in filmmaking and creation.”
