Kym Marsh reveals nerves over Corrie musical, Street Of Dreams

Corrie star Kym Marsh, who of course first shot to fame as part of Popstars band Hear’Say, has revealed that she’s nervous about returning to singing for her role in Corrie’s musical, Street of Dreams.

In the musical, Kym will play the role of Street icon Elsie Tanner, who was of course played by the late Pat Phoenix.

Of the show, and her role in it, Kym – who plays the role of Michelle Connor on the regular show – told This Morning viewers, “I still do a little bit of singing here and there, but this is kind of completely different…

“And to be going and being a part of such a huge musical production is quite scary.

“Obviously I’m going to be putting in the hours and rehearsing and everything. But I’m looking forward to it.”

She added, “I still get nervous, it doesn’t matter how many people I’m singing to I still get nervous…”

Kym will perhaps be more nervous when she knows that classical singer Russell Watson has signed up as a guest performer for the musical!

He’s set to sing the show’s headline song ‘Ghosts – Take My Hand’ at the premiere of the musical in Manchester next month.

X Factor winner Joe McElderry has also signed up to sing in the musical.
