This years MTV VMAs are this Sunday in Brooklyn New York and one of the highlight performances is sure to be the return of Lady Gaga, the star who released her most recent single Applause early due to leaks will open this years ceremony.
Lady Gaga has vowed that it’ll be just as a big as her fans expect from her and that she ‘won’t be scaling it back’.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills the superstar said that she’ll be pulling out all the stops during her set.
“We’re definitely not scaling it back. It’s actually much bigger performance than anything we’ve ever done and it’s much more physically challenging. I’m always going to be as interested in the avant-garde and the grotesque. And I’m always going to be bending pop music in a different way.
Lady Gaga also spoke about her new, natural image in terms of her make-up and styling. She explained that the decision to overhaul her look came after she decided she had to challenge herself emotionally.
“But this time, I’m able to take off my make-up now and I’m able to work in different kinds of ways and that was really what I wanted to do. I wanted to put myself in an uncomfortable position.”
Lady Gaga is set to open this years MTV VMAs and will also appear at this years iTunes Festival headlining the opening night.
A stream of her performance should be on iTunes for viewing – for free and highlights may appear on TV after it was revealed that Channel 4 will be showing various performance highlights across the month on Channel 4 presented by Lauren Laverne.
