Evil Archie is due to make a comeback on EastEnders next week, but Larry Lamb who plays him has told Inside Soap magazine that even he doesn’t know what EastEnders’ bosses have in store for his character.

“The producers are being very cagey with me” he said, adding, “I’m not sure if they’re certain themselves yet.

“They’re in the process of creating what’s going to happen next, so the truth is, I don’t know.”

However he does know that Archie’s going to try to get back into Peggy’s good books, but that’s going to be a pretty onerous task.

“Peggy and his girls are his dream family” Larry said.

“He’s blown that apart” he continued, “but is determined to reconstruct it. I don’t know how he thinks he can – he certainly is a strange man.”
