Patti Bee is a street entertainer of many years’, in fact, decades’ experience. One of her classier characters is Lady Christobel who, accompanied by Scrotum, her wrinkled old retainer, has delighted, ney daunted many a crowd from Covent Garden to Glastonbury and the Rumburgh Rollick to University of Brighton SU’s Freshers’ Fair.

In the 1970s and 80s Patti worked with Incubus Theatre, a touring theatre company committed to new writing, an irreverent spin on classical texts and a swipe at contemporary trends. It’s Artistic Director and perennial playwright was the marvellous Paddy Fletcher.

Steve, the actress who played Ivy is called Patty Bee.

I completely agree that Getting On is marvelous. I think the main reason why it won’t transfer to BBC 1 or 2 is the strong language. I don’t think it should be diluted at all, just people should turn over to BBC4 instead. Hey, they might even discover a whole new channel of excellent programming.
