Why would the little boy have an awful life if his mum was working? OK, she couldn't afford the nursery and the gran would not care for him. When you're sayin "but would you rather a little boy have an awful life just so you have to pay a little less tax?" I just would say to the gran of the kid "would you rather see your grandson have an awful life just so you don't have to pay for him?" After all, the poor teenage mum being on benefit was on the poverty line anyway so the kid is not gonna have a very nice life. It is just my view: if I had a daughter who was a teenage mom, I'd rather help her, even tho not supposed to, than see her and my grandchild on the poverty line with or without the governement's help. The teenage mum (Kim?) implied that she would prefer to work and have a decent salary rather than be on welfare, didn't she?

How on earth was she supposed to get a job with a baby? Her mother was obviously extremely lazy, and i highly doubt she'd take care of the girl's grandson whilst she went out to work. And to be fair, yes we have to pay tax but would you rather a little boy have an awful life just so you have to pay a little less tax?

Good result for Lydia and Chantelle
However I was annoyed when the mum of that 16-year-old mother (the once Lydia met) said that it's not the grandparents'job to pay given that they brought up their own children,
I would have followed her if her daughter was working but she is sponging off the state and most of all MOANING that she can hardly live on it...
So her mum meant, it's not the grand-parents' job to pay for teenage motherhood... it's the taxpayers' if I've well understood?
