Thank you both for your kind comments I hope that Channel 4 do a follow up of some kind so we can see how all the patients are doing post-op.

Hi i had a mitral operation in october of last year at Barts by mr Lall,i was due to have a valve replacement and decided to opt for a mechanical one as this is longer lasting than a pigs valve.
I was terrified on the day of the op and i even had thoughts of walking out of the Hospital,however i took a deep breath and went for it.
To cut a long story short once Mr Lall began the op he decided that he could repair my own Valve.
I had the op and was surprised at how quickly i began to recover appx i week and your up and about.
Im so happy that i had it done it has changed my life and at 51 years of age i feel a lot fitter.
So please dont worry you will be fine these Doctors are fantastic and never get it wrong

Im sure your operation, when it happens will be a great
success, surgeons do these sorts of op`s everyday, Its like
opening a tin of beans to them. Im not sure Id want to know
the ins & outs of whats happening, if it was me having the operation.
Although saying that, if I was faced with it, I may feel different.

Hopefully when its done, you`l have a new lease of life.
