Last Night’s TV – Lost: Recon

This week’s Sawyer centric episode has offered yet more evidence of a mirror universe, and this week, we saw that in Sidestep reality, Sawyer/James Ford was a cop instead of being a conman.

However, that does rather beg the question of why Sawyer/Ford, on seeing Kate in handcuffs in the episode What Kate Does, just let her go on her merry way? Surely a cop seeing someone in handcuffs and running away from authority types would intervene?

Anyway, that aside, life on the Island is still as confusing as ever, with more double crosses than ever…

Fake Locke’s being nicey nicey on the one hand, and a ruthless killer on the other. Sawyer’s obeying his instructions, and everyone else’s it seems, then tattling on them all in order to affect a good outcome for himself. But of course, that’s not going to work if Fake Locke is all seeing, all knowing…

He’ll already know that’s what’s going on surely? And on that subject, that’s getting a tad tedious now; Fake Locke sending people off to do something, then it turns out he has another agenda…

Sighs…

Anyway, in Sidestep, Miles is Sawyer’s cop partner, and if he’s able to talk to the dead in this reality, it wasn’t mentioned. And he of course introduced Sawyer to Charlotte who, in Island reality, is as dead as a dodo.

Meanwhile, Sawyer was on the trail of the real Sawyer; Anthony Cooper. So although he’s a cop instead of a conman, he’s still after Cooper. And just to add to the mix of confusion, Liam Pace, Charlie’s brother, turned up at the police station looking for his brother. Oh emm gee.

Back on the Island, while Sawyer was obeying Fake Locke’s every whim by going to the Hydra Island, he was of course met by Zoe, who it turned out was one of Charles Widmore’s sidekicks. And we’re still no nearer knowing what Charles wants…

I’m slightly erring towards running out of patience now; not that I’ll stop watching, but it’s getting tiring when we’re getting question after question and still no answers! So will next week’s show prove any more enlightening?

Well, if the blurb is to be believed, yes, it should be because apparently, we’re finally going to get Richard Alpert’s backstory! Oh joy! That should answer at least some questions… I hope.

Entitled ‘Ab Aeterno’, here are the promos for it…

See you next week!
