Last Night’s TV – Lost: The Last Recruit

I can’t believe we’re so near the end now! It’s quite scary actually; what’s life going to be like post-Lost?!

However, while it’s still here, there’s plenty of theorising to be done, and we did get a few answers last night!

For instance, we know now that Fake Locke – who we assume is the Man In Black – did indeed appear to Jack as his dad Christian, in order, apparently, to guide an Island-newbie Jack to where the water was at.

So I think it’s fair to assume that all the ‘hallucinations’ there’ve been – such as Kate seeing her horse in the middle of the jungle – are down to Fake Locke…

But there are still a million questions of course. For example, will we ever get to see Lapidus in Sidestep reality? And do you remember Walt when he used to appear to the Losties and speak backwards? I’m hoping that gets answered soon.

But getting back to last night, did Syed kill Des?? I soooo hope not! And has Jack gone to the Dark Side, or is he going to turn out to be the hero of the hour and keep Fake Locke on the Island, thereby saving the world?

Well, he’s the hero type for sure. And one interesting moment came last night when he was called in to operate on Locke. Remember back in the very beginning – the pilot episode actually – when Jack told Kate that he’d learned to conquer his fear by counting to five when he’d accidentally ripped a patient’s dural sac?

No? Well, he did…

Anyway, we heard him tell the nurse last night that Locke’s dural sac was annihilated, so is this where he repairs the altverse mistake? And of course, we saw Jack in Sidestep a few weeks back offering to operate on Locke, but Locke ended up dismissing it.

Also on the subject of Jack, we still don’t know who David’s mother is! What’s your bet? I’m going for it being Juliette!

Ok so, onto Easter Eggs from last night, and as ever, many thanks to Buddy TV for the screencaps…

One of the most obvious was seeing Des and Claire get into the lift and head for floor 15 – one of The Numbers of course.

However, less obviously, Des was off to see Ilana – I know! – at the offices of Sweetzer and Verdansky.

First off, Penny made her coffee date with Des for a coffee place on the corner of Melrose and Sweetzer, and also, Jorge Garcia – who of course plays Hurley – was in a film called Sweetzer.

And we got to see Des/Libby’s boat again, The Elizabeth. You’ll recall we saw the boat in season 3 when Des set off in it, and ended up on the Island…

So, next week’s show is, The Candidate, in which Jack must decide whether or not to trust Locke after he is asked to follow through on a difficult task.

Here are The Candidate promos…

See you next week!
