Last Night’s TV – Lost The Package

Though this episode started slowly – and just wasn’t as good as last week’s, but there, little is – it got better as it went along, and we heard and saw some juicy tidbits…

For instance, one very intriguing moment for me came when Widmore was talking to Fake Locke and said that he knew he wasn’t really Locke, and added, “Everything else I know is a combination of myth, ghost stories and jungle noises in the night.”

Ooooooooo!

So let’s go and take a squizz at what we’ve learned, and what we haven’t…

Well first to mention is something my daughter spotted, and that is that several of the characters are wearing black; Sayid for example is in black shirt and black cargos, while Sawyer’s wearing a black shirt, as are Miles, Richard and Jack. Jin and Sun meanwhile are wearing white… Significant? Quite possibly I’d say!

So, getting back to Widmore and Fake Locke, FL told Widmore that a “wise man” once said there was a “war coming to the island.” The first time we’d heard mention of this was in the episode, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham. Again, not sure of the significance of the linkage of those two events – other than the obvious Locke connection.

Moving on and when we saw Jin and Sun at the hotel, the room they were given first was room 842, and of course 8 and 42 form part of The Numbers. And when he was taken by Zoe – Widmore’s sidekick – he was put into Room 23, another of The Numbers.

And there were some very interesting links in Sidestep Reality and the previous lives of the Losties who’re on the Island. One of the best last night was in seeing Mikhail again, complete with both eyes, until Jin shot one out that is…

I’m sure you’ll remember Mikhail; he was the creepy dude who we saw a lot of in previous series and who saw Charlie off to his watery grave by hovering malevolently with the grenade… horrid man.

Anyway, last night he was at first introduced as “Danny’s friend”. Now that could be any one of a lot of people; Daniel Faraday maybe? Or perhaps Danielle Rousseau? Or some other Dan altogether even!

I guess the important bit to keep in mind was that in all previous series, as I mentioned, we’ve seen him minus one eye, so was his previously missing eye the work of Jin or did that peeper befall some other accident? And I must say, after Jin had shot him, he looked very, very dead!

But onto the big news of this episode; Des was The Package and it was he who was locked in that room on Widmore’s sub… but why’s he there? Oooo…

So in terms of answers, yet again we didn’t really get any did we? Maybe next week’s episode, Happily Ever After, is going to provide some, but I won’t hold my breath…

Here are a couple of promos for next week’s episode which is Desmond centric…

See you next week for yet more confused head scratching…
