Lauren Crace Daunted By Eastenders Fans
Eastenders actress Lauren Crace has admitted that the attention of soap fans can often be daunting, especially when she is out alone.
Crace plays Danielle Jones on the BBC soap opera and her character moved to the square in a bid to connect with her long lost mum, Ronnie Mitchell.
“I was recognised as soon as my photo was published, before I’d even appeared on screen,” Crace told the Sunday Mercury. “It was very strange.
“Now I can’t go out at all without people saying something. It can be quite daunting, especially if I’m on my own and a group of school kids all want to take my photo. For some reason, buses are the worst!
“You are in people’s living rooms four or five days a week and audiences know your character inside out. When people see you in the street, they don’t always realise you are an actor and not that character.”
Crace was asked to audition for Eastenders as she completed her final year at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) last summer.
“I couldn’t believe it when I got the audition,” she explained. “It’s not what I expected, especially as I don’t come from London.
“It all happened so quickly. I had a couple of auditions and then the next week I started work, back in June. For the first week of filming I was still appearing in my final show for RADA.”

Dear dear Lauren, Iam devastated that you are now out of Eastenders , as I was just getting use to you on screen. Iam so sorry for you that you had to leave like that and in such tragic circumstances as well. I need to know what else can we all look forward to seeing you in the future ? . Vry very well done for portraying a character in awkward circumstances.It must be sad for you also as ,i expect you made loads of friends as well, they will never go away i hope for your sake. Please please come back to us all soon, we MISS YOU already. You were the light at the end of my tunnel, the roses in my garden and that’s just a start. i dont think they should have killed her of due to the fact she brought alot of younger audiences into the shoe
her charector inspiered alot of young girls to achive dreams with the performinces she gave she shoed hope for them as well as me , i really feel she should have been kept in the shoe for a bit longer so at least we could learn more about the charector so many things could have been dun, so many great storys could have came from it. now it really is a shaim she is gone but her last perfomances was out standing. as an audience we natrully wanted the best for her but at the same time we new there was gona be a big twist as soon as the truth was out. i dont hate the script writters becouse they did keep me and millions of other people entertained for mounths on end they give me somthing to look forword to and the story line was amazing even i can admite that i onlt hate that danni was killed off so thank you i have to say for the amazing story that made me go out there and chase my dream of being on eastenders i new there was hope the first time i saw danni on the show becouse she was the same age as me i thought it would be intoresting to follow her story and i did so i got inspiered by it and realised that this is were i want to be doing this sort of work for the rest of my life. becouse life is just one big drama so why not read the script and play along you never know were it may lead you.
