Law & Order: UK finale pulled after Ann Maguire death
ITV bosses have decided to pull tonight’s Law & Order: UK finale from their schedule, in light of recent tragic events.
The series eight finale is titled ‘Repeat to Fade’ and was supposed to go out at 9pm, however fans will now watch a repeat of the show and asked to wait until a later date before bringing the series to a close.
The final instalment of the current run centred around the investigation into the stabbing of a young woman, however after 61 year old Spanish teacher Ann Maguire stabbed to death at a school in Leeds on Monday (April 28), bosses felt it would be appropriate to postpone the viewing.
In a statement, ITV said: “A change has been made to tonight’s schedule in light of recent news events, and a different episode of Law & Order: UK will air on ITV this evening.”
When the episode does air, viewers will watch as Sharon Small steps in as Ronnie and Joe’s new boss, DI Elisabeth Flynn. She’s determined to cut down on knife crime, however when working their first case, the team struggle to get enough evidence together to find the culprit of a stabbing, which led to the death of a young girl.
