Leanne Mitchell is named The Voice UK
Tonight The Voice UK reached its live grand final, which saw Leanne Mitchell named The Voice 2012.
The four finalists each took to the stage to impress the viewers at home and earn their votes throughout the two hour musical extravaganza: the voting lines opened after the first round of performances, so every note of every song really did count.
Leanne Mitchell sang for Team Tom, Vince Kidd represented Team Jessie, Bo Bruce sang for Team Danny and Tyler James represented Team Will.i.am. Each finalist performed up to three times across the final: one new cover version and one duet with their coach. After these performances, the artist with the fewest votes – Vince Kidd – was eliminated, and the remaining three artists revived their strongest performance from across the series in a bid to clinch the title for themselves.
The grand final featured exclusive performances from Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5, and the four superstar coaches took to the stage to perform a medley of their own hits including It’s Not Unusual, Price Tag, Break Even and Where Is The Love.
