Lily Allen returned to the top of the singles chart this past weekend but this week she faces competition from three artists as they fight for their place at the top.
On this midweek chart up date according to the Official Charts Company Lily Allen faces competition from Ellie Goulding, Leona Lewis and Avicii who all want to claim that top spot.
At present Lily Allen remains Number (1) on the Official Singles Chart but at this midweek stage there are less than 7,000 copies separating the Top 4.
‘Somewhere Only We Know’ is Lily Allen’s cover of the hit Keane track and has been used for the John Lewis Christmas advert and this isn’t the first time Lily Allen has been at the top of the charts with the track.
Avicii has climbed six places on the Official Singles Chart this week with ‘Hey Brother’ which is at Number (2) while up four places to Number (3) is Ellie Goulding with ‘How Long Will I Love You’.
Leona Lewis returns to the Top 5 on the Official Singles Chart this week following her performance on the X Factor on Sunday night. Her track ‘One More Sleep’ jumps 34 places into Number (4).
One Direction and ‘Story of My Life’ complete the Top 5 at this midweek stage as the track falls three places.
Looking at new entries and high climbers on this weeks Official Singles Chart going into Sunday we can see that Justin Bieber leads the new entries for this week with ‘Confident’ featuring Chance The Rapper which is new at Number (17).
If Bieber can continue this momentum going into the weekend then according to the Official Charts Company this will be his tenth Top 40 single in as many weeks.
Elvis Presley’s duet with Susan Boyle ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ is at Number (40) this week while Chase and Status climb 14 places on the Official Singles Chart with ‘Alive’ featuring Jacob Banks which is at Number (34).
Kid Ink moves up six places to Number (39) with ‘Show Me’ featuring Chris Brown.
The race for the 2013 Christmas Number 1 kicks off this Sunday (15th of December) with the winner being revealed on Sunday the 22nd of December.
