Four years after Brittany Murphy passed away, Lifetime is reportedly planning to produce a TV movie based on the late actress’s life.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the TV movie will be a two-hour long biopic, titled ‘The Brittany Murphy Story’.

The publication is alleging that Amanda Fuller, who has previously starred in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, will play adult Murphy, whilst ‘Twin Peaks’ star Sherilyn Fenn will play Sharon Murphy, her mother.

According to Lifetime, the film will primarily document how Murphy’s mother was “her support system, but that enduring love wasn’t enough to save her sensitive Brittany from the vicissitudes of Hollywood life.”

Allegedly, the feature will begin by showing the actress in the 1980’s as an aspiring star. The film will then progress through her personal life and acting career, and will culminate by featuring with her death (which was reportedly caused by pneumonia), as well as the following craziness that surrounded her passing.

Murphy was found dead in her on December 20th 2009, and her husband, Simon Monjack, was then found dead in the same home just five months later. As yet, there have been no casting announcements as to who will be playing Monjack in the film.

Murphy had a very promising career, appearing in a number of huge box office hits. The late stars credits included roles in ‘Clueless’, ‘Girl, Interrupted’, ‘Happy Feet’, ‘Sin City’ and ‘8 Mile’. Just a few years before her death, she also ventured into the music world when she released the dance track ‘Faster Kill Pussycat’ in 2006 with Paul Oakenfold. She also recorded several songs for the ‘Happy Feet’ soundtrack.

‘The Brittany Murphy Story’ is expected to premiere on September 6th on Lifetime.
