Singer and TV presenter Lily Allen has given birth to a little girl, which of course she’s overjoyed about, especially as she’s suffered the trauma of a miscarriage and stillbirth previously.
Lily’s former boyfriend Sebastian Chew first broke the news that Lily and her husband Sam Cooper had become parents last night on Twitter.
He wrote, “Sending out love to lily, sam and mini cooper… YES.”
And Lily’s close friend Charlie Condou – who plays Marcus Dent in Corrie – also tweeted, “She has indeed, a little girl.”
The baby’s birth will hopefully help to bury some of the pain that Lily suffered after losing a baby in 2007 and then again in November 2008…
Lily, who is daughter of actor and musician Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, spoke about the pain of losing the babies when she starred in her own TV show, Riches to Rags.
During the show, she said, “It was a really long battle – and I think that kind of thing changes a person.”
She also talked about her ongoing struggle with bulimia, saying, “I used to vomit after meals. It’s not something I’m proud of, the singer admits.
“But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked and I’d be on the cover of every magazine.
“I thought I looked good and it was great to be able to try on clothes and feel a million dollars. But I wasn’t happy, I really wasn’t.”
lily, who also starred in BBC3 show, Lily Allen and Friends, added, “I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world but I can’t do that without being unhappy – I like food. I’m a pop star, not a model.
“Don’t make me feel s*** for not being really skinny and having an eating disorder.”
Well, I’m sure she’s not feeling like s*** today! Congratulations Lily and Sam!
