Lindsay Lohan documentary given premiere date, Oprah Winfrey admits ‘The warnings were true’
Lindsay Lohan’s brand new documentary series has been given a premiere date over the weekend.
The eight-episode documentary series will follow the former Disney star as the is released from Rehab and will air on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network in March.
The documentary is titled “Lindsay” and gives a “strikingly candid” look at her life as she returns to New York following her stint in rehab. She reunites with friends and family, whilst attempting to rebuild her crumbled career.
Oprah Winfrey has certainly had a lot of time for the troubled star since she was released from rehab as she not only scored the first post-rehab interview with her, but she has also offered the star $2 million for the documentary series.
However, in a trailer that was broadcast to audiences at the TCA winter press tour, Oprah admitted that Lohan is hard to work with at times. So, one would only question why Oprah has put so much into the documentary and given Lohan so much time since her release from rehab?
OWN president Sheri Salata said at the press tour that Oprah’s patience was tested multiple times during the recording process as Lohan had a habit of shutting the crew out.
In the teaser trailer, Winfrey openly said: “This is exactly what everybody said was going to happen and I believed differently. She doesn’t understand. This is her life – you think you have forever”.
In the clip, she also tells Lohan: “My truth is I really do want to win, but if that isn’t what you want I’m okay with that. I will tell these guys to pack up and leave today”.
Lindsay admits that this is her “last shot at doing what I have to do”.
‘Lindsay’ will premiere on March 9 at 10pm on OWN.
