Lipstick Jungle Is A “Yummy Indulgence!”

Kim Raver, star of Lipstick Jungle has said that people love the show because it is a “yummy indulgence”.

“We all need some yummy indulgences,” she says in Boston Common magazine. “Television can provide that escape - and on a friendly schedule. If you have four kids, by the time you get a babysitter, find something you want to see, and get to the movie theatre, it’s very expensive. Our show provides an escapism that I think is not insulting. People like to see what it’s like to fly with a billionaire in a private jet. That’s a yummy indulgence.”

Kim, who stars in US TV show, currently airing on Living with Brooke Shields and Lindsay Price, is thrilled that the show addresses older women.

“There are more older women - and women in general - on television because there’s an audience for it,” she says.

“How long did it take us? There are some really astonishing, accomplished actresses coming to TV: Glenn Close in Damages, Holly Hunter in Amazing Grace, Mary-Louise Parker in Weeds.”

She adds: “TV has definitely changed. All of those characters are strong women. They’re not perfect. And they’re not the girlfriends. They are the women. They are their shows. That’s great.”
