David Walliams has revealed that he and Matt Lucas are finished with Little Britain.

The comedy show was a HUGE hit for BBC but Walliams and Lucas want to end the show before the public get fed up with it.

David told The Sun: “If the show comes back year in year out, it’s just probably not special any more.

“The BBC and HBO both asked us to do more shows but we feel it’s time to do something else before people get sick of you. Sometimes you give people what they want too much and they end up sort of not liking it any more.

“It’s important we change the record and do something else creatively.”

David says he is emulating Monty Python star John Cleese – who made just 12 episodes of the hilarious Fawlty Towers.

He added: “I admire him so much. He did the greatest sketch show with Monty Python, then the greatest sitcom with Fawlty Towers and some of the funniest films ever made – the Life Of Brian and a Fish Called Wanda. It’s time to move on and do something else.

“I’ve been developing some film projects in America which have been going well.”
