Glittering stars of stage and screen complete the line-up for Sky1 HD’s Little Crackers 2. Much loved ex-Eastender and Carry On star Barbara Windsor, award-winning musical star and actress Sheridan Smith, Mount Pleasant and Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay, actors and comedians Johnny Vegas and Jack Whitehall, and the king of quirky laughs, Harry Hill, will all deliver their films this Christmas.

They join the previously announced John Bishop, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Alan Davies, Jane Horrocks and Shappi Khorsandi for 11 very special short films for the festive season.

Last Christmas, Sky1 HD launched its commitment to home-grown comedy with a series of 12 short films written by and starring a raft of A-list comedy talent, with six of the stars making their directorial debuts.

In her film, a young Barbara Windsor finds herself embarrassed by her developing physique and with her mum in tow, takes a trip her first bra fitting. Windsor takes a cameo role as the kindly lingerie fitter.

Tired of being left at home with her big brothers and boring babysitter as her parents head out to perform their country and western gigs, small Sheridan Smith devises a plan to escape the sitter and gate crash the gig.

Spirited child Jack Whitehall wishes his dad would buy him a Barbie doll for his birthday. Prone to being somewhat of a self-confessed drama queen, Jack takes to the road after his material girl doesn’t materialise. But in a chance encounter, his hero Robin Hood – played by Jack himself – imparts some father-son wisdom that brings the pair closer together.

Harry Hill displays his unique brand of comedy with the fictional tale of when he and his Thai bride go to Africa to adopt a puppet child, whose maverick guitar skills lead to the theory of him being a Jimmy Hendrix impersonator.
When Johnny Vegas’ Dad has to drop out of playing Father Christmas at their church’s Christmas fayre, it is 13-year old Johnny that has to step up to the plate.

As a teenager John Bishop worked in his dad’s small factory making teddy bears. When the supplier did not pay the bill, the workers were paid in bears, causing a frenzy to sell them door-to-door before Christmas arrived.
Johnny, Harry, John and Sanjeev will be writing, directing and starring in their films for Sky1 HD.

About the series, Sky’s Head of Comedy, Lucy Lumsden said:
“Little Crackers 2 is set to be one of the highlights this Christmas season. We have some of the best actors and comedians serving up some brilliant comedy shorts – perfect for the cosy winter nights.”
