Liz Dawn Wants More Coronation Street Comedy

Liz Dawn has hit out at Corrie writers saying that the show has lost its comedy roots.
Liz, who played Vera Duckworth for 34 years, told Radio Times: “I’m not sure there’s as much comedy as there was when we were behind the bar at the Rovers.!
She added: “It’s all about pinching each other’s wives and husbands.
“At one time if Albert Tatlock’s milk went missing then it was a big deal.”
I personally would like to see Corrie producers giving more air time to Dev and his uncle and also bring on some more comedic moments involving Steve McDonald. He’s always good for a laugh!

Liz is right with what she is saying, lets face it, it is becoming like dead enders, sorry eastenders, where it is always bad news. Coronation street was about fun and now it has just got to serious with the same old storylines such as the kevin affair, bring back the fun
I think Liz is right, and what is worrying is all the good characters are leaving so it is no wonder why coronation is losing against eastenders which i have to say i am a big fan of.
Coronation street was once the leader, it was fun but now they are trying to make it into something it is not and that is why fans are leaving, less people are watching because eastenders and coronation street have a different audience but coronation street are trying to compete against eastenders which is wrong
I completely agree. I loved the more comic moments on Corrie. No other soap had that as much. Now its all affairs and cheating and evil David with his latest girlfriend……boring!
