Lloyd Webber Promises No Eurovision Rubbish For 2009
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber as promised that he will not churn out a rubbish song for this years Eurovision Song Contest.
Lloyd Webber has agreed to pen Britain’s entry for the competition and is launching a search to find a talented singer or group to perform it.
Speaking to Radio Times about his task, Lloyd Webber explained: “These may be famous last words, but I do find melodies quite easy. I have done so much in my career in different styles and I’m not really worried about it.”
He added: “If I find a straightforward R&B act then I might be in trouble. I’m always very lyric-driven because I’m from the theatre, and one of our tasks for this is going to be a lyric that suits the performer. I’m not going to go for some silly nonsense song.”
