It’s been revealed today that Loose Women star Denise Welch has confessed to being a sex addict, and she added that she and former husband Tim Healy used to have”humdinger” rows, during which she would often attack him.

Denise, who of course formerly starred in Coronation Street and who won January’s series of Celebrity Big Brother, made her confessions during a appearance on Piers Morgan’s show, Life Stories, which was filmed on Tuesday.

During the interview, Denise told Piers, “I like sex. What’s the problem with being a sexaholic? I just like s****ing.”

And Denise, who’s engaged to Lincoln Townley, revealed that her ex Tim would often take her “by surprise” when he wanted sex.

She said, “He used to come up behind me and do the jiggy-jiggy while I was emptying the dishwasher.”

However, on the more serious issue of her physically attacking Tim, Denise confessed, “I’ve whacked him over the head with a lampshade before, and a hair-dryer.

“I once pushed him and he slipped in some milk and put his arm through the door and nearly severed his arm.

“We had some humdingers, we really did, fuelled by excess. Always.

“They were scrappy and physical, but he’s never hit me in his life.”

She added, “We had good times as well.”

Of Tim finding out that Denise was seeing Lincoln while they were still married, Denise said, “I’ve got many regrets in life but one of the biggest is how he found out about that. It was horrendous.”

Explaining that while she was trying to leave a message on Lincoln’s phone, she became “distracted” and dialled Tim’s number instead.

“He heard it,” she said, adding, “I was saying I couldn’t see him cause my family were down.

“And that I missed him and I loved him.”

The interview with Denise will air on ITV1 on September 28.
