It’s been reported by the Daily Mirror today that Loose Women stars Janet Street Porter and Jenny Éclair – who are two of the latest additions to the hit show’s panel – defaced framed photographs of Katherine Jenkins and Myleene Klass.

The paper states that the two were caught out when they were overheard “bragging” about having damaged the portraits, however, both insist there was no malicious intent and it was done only for a laugh.

However, it seems not everyone on the ITV daytime show was impressed at the prank, especially given that Janet allegedly insulted Katherine Jenkins when she appeared on the show recently.

A show insider told the paper, “For some reason Janet didn’t seem to take to Katherine when she was on the show…

“And before going live whispered a slightly snide comment.

“Luckily it wasn’t picked up by Katherine but Janet was openly joshing about it afterwards.”

The source added, “More recently, she and Jenny decided to attack Myleene and Katherine’s photos, and Jenny was later boasting they’d penned various scribbles.

“Word got back to the other Loose Women and although Jenny and Janet were only trying to be funny, it hasn’t gone down well.

“There’s the sense that the pair have only been on the show for two minutes and that they shouldn’t be quite so cocky.

“The regulars, like Carol McGiffin, Andrea McLean, Lynda Bellingham and Lisa Maxwell, pride themselves on being a tight-knit bunch who won’t stand for bullying or bitchiness.”

Janet has previously let it be known that she doesn’t think much of Katherine, and three years ago, in a column post for a tabloid newspaper, Janet wrote, “In spite of her anodyne image relentlessly pushed by a high-powered PR team, I found La Jenkins a self-centred diva when we both appeared in Britain’s Favourite View with Sir Trevor McDonald.

“Jenkins went everywhere backstage surrounded by a flotilla of helpers, endlessly re-spraying her hair and dabbing at her face until the last moment before she stepped in front of the cameras.”

However, on the subject of Janet and Jenny defacing the photographs, an ITV source said, “All the Loose ladies have a great on-screen chemistry.

“There are some big personalities and sometimes the high jinks on the show spill over backstage but it is all harmless fun.”

Personally, and as much as I like both Janet and Jenny, I’d have thought they’re a tad long in the tooth for such childishness!
