Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones have a mutual appreciation society moment ahead of Daybreak roles!

Both Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones have been gushing about just how much they can’t wait to work together on the newly revamped version of Daybreak.

Aled – who of course first became famous as a child in 1982 when he sang the now iconic theme tune to Channel 4’s The Snowman – told the Daily Mail, “I am so thrilled to be joining ITV for their breakfast show.

“I am thoroughly looking forward to sharing the sofa every morning with such a consummate professional as Lorraine Kelly.

“We’ve known each other for a very long time and have always had a lot of fun together.

“We hope that the viewers enjoy being part of our breakfast family…”

Aled is of course no stranger to hosting TV shows, given he’s done so on BBC’s Songs of Praise and Cash in the Attic.

And it goes without saying the Lorraine, a veteran of breakfast telly, will be comfortable in her role on the Daybreak sofa, and of the prospect of working with Aled, she told TV Times, ‘”I am excited about hosting with Aled. I’ve known Aled for a long time.

“When we did a screen test together, something just clicked. He is a lovely, funny, positive man with a brilliant sense of humour.”

It still hasn’t been revealed exactly when Lorraine and Aled take over the reigns of the Daybreak sofa, but it’s widely expected that it’ll happen before the end of the year.
