Ok, here my opinion, which in some parts agrees wiht yours and others as well. Ok The whole time Locke has said the island brought them there. the black shirt is the island. The island has a mind of its own, and interacts via the black smoke. It has been known that the smoke can transform into whom even it wants. The interaction between Jacob the the black shirt guy was the island taking human form to interact, which is why his shirt it black, because the smoke it black. Jacob has some power over the island, which it doesnt like, unfortunately for the island, it cant kill Jacob. If Jacob were dead, the island can be free. in season one, when Lock sees the smoke for the first time, its the island beginning to plan to use Locke as part of his loop hole.
Why is there hostility between the island and Jacob? Obviously they have had problems in the past, which is why they is forced politeness between them at the beginning of the episode. The has awesome power, that is a given. Egyptians in the past found worshiped it, fought over it and eventually killed themselves in the process. Jacob wants to give humans another chance, goes off the island and shows some people the way to the island. well not show them but pushes them in the right direction. Somehow like the oceanic six, the people on the Black Rock were went to go to island and Jacob influenced their lives to do so. (a little mini theory i have is that the first ever hostiles or others were the crew from the Black Rock captained by Richard and was given more power by Jacob) The island is infuriated with Jacob and his human attics and wants to kill him. Jacob never communicated Ben because Ben was never special, nor was Locke. In fact, I think the only special perosn is Jack. Jacob knows about the island finding the loophole. the island can influence people on the island, he made Ben crazy enough to kill Locke off the island, and then impersonated Locke, making Locke seem more important. When Ben goes to be judged, its part of the islands plan. its wasnt Ben's daughter ghost or anything, it was the island manipulating Ben. Jacob knows there is no stopping Ben, which is why he doesnt stop Ben from stabbing him. all he had was a sad look in his eyes. Jacob wants Jack to set off the bomb. in which case everything changes. Everyone who died will be back. Since the island has such awesome power, like it was said, when it blew up, there was a change it time. keep in mind, everyone who died is back. EVERYONE. the only one who will have recollection, will be Jacob, and he will the lead the series to the end.

Jacob had a white shirt on in the finale.

Richard had a black shirt on in the finale.

Jacob is immortal.

Richard is immortal.

I think Jacob can only be killed within his temple, but Richard isnt able to get in, due to some spiritual barrier or whatever.

Hello Lynn,

Thank you for clearing that up.

I wonder if there is any significance to the Moses reference...you never know, with Lost everything means something.

I have a weird feeling it could be Sayid's girlfriend...maybe Jacob touched her and healed her like he did John, and he could have told her about Sayid being a killer etc, which could cause someone to revenge on a high level. They haven't shown the funeral for her yet, so we don't actually know she died for definate. Who knows, that's quite far fetched, but then, so is Lost in general...

I have made sure I haven't missed a single episode...have watched every single one from day one, but I still get confused from time to time!

I remember that bit about Hurley now...there is so much that goes on in Lost, I have to be reminded sometimes!! How do you remember it all, and remember all the people, names and relevance! You must have an awesome memory, Lynn, or a notepad. ;P

Hi Simon, yep it was epic! I hadn't thought of the Moses thing... you could be onto something there. Also, the three men Hurley said he'd killed were actually the ones Sayid killed in the premiere when he got Hurley out of Santa Rosa and took him to that apartment building. The first dead guy was the one he shot at the door, the second was the guy who landed on the dishwasher and got skewered with the knife, and I think Sayid shot someone else and/or threw his off the balcony.

Hurley lied to the police that he'd done it in order to get arrested when Ben came to his Dad's house to get him to back to the Island; Sayid had told him to do whatever he had to do to stay away from Ben so he got himself arrested!

As to Ilana, we first saw her when she was escorting a handcuffed Sayid onto Ajira flight 316, then later in flashback, we saw that she'd been hired by the family of the guy he had executed on the golf-course ages ago. Anyway, she said they'd hired her to take him back to whatever country that was, I can't quite remember now, but of course they got on the Ajira flight and kblam, ended up on the island.

I wondered too for a bit if she was Nadia after plastic surgery, but I don't think the writers would do something like that... plus, Nadia loved Sayid so much, I don't think she'd be able to kick him in the face -like she did in the hotel where she arrested him - or keep away from him on the island... could be wrong though!

I agree it's hard to keep up :-) Miss just one episode and you have no clue what's going on so I make sure I never missed one!

Thanks a lot for visiting!

Wasn't the finale just awesome??!!...I was sat on the edge of my seat, literally, open mouthed watching it, especially towards the end! I love Lost, can't believe it's over for another year!

I have a point to raise in addition to yours...When Ben confronted Jacob towards the end, Ben talked about when he asked to see Jacob and was denied, yet John Locke was allowed. Ben made a reference to Moses, to which the camera looked at Locke's face. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Also. At the flashback to Hurley being released from prison. He spoke of killing 3 men but wasn't believed by the police...who are these three men he claims to have killed...do we know who they are?

I have a query I would like cleared up too, if you can...Who is Llana and when did she first appear? When the flashback showed her in hospital I initially thought the woman in the bandages was Sayid's girlfriend, the one who was hit by the car. Am I confused, can you explain who Llana is and when she first appeared...I am abit stumped with timelines of their appearances and meanings - there are so many! I try so hard to keep up but sometimes I just get too confused!

Great finale...I am so excited to know whether Juliet detonated the bomb and what the fallout of it will be...and whether, somehow, the future losties (the gang before boarding the original plane) recognise eachother at the Sydney airport without meeting yet or whether they meet in the future...could it be destiny that Jack meets Kate, and Sawyer meets Juliet etc etc...

I don't usually like this kind of program, Sci-fi etc, but Lost has me so hooked, has done from day one! Love it!
