Former Dancing On Ice judge and Pineapple Studio’s owner, Louis Spence, has been lined up as the next celebrity to stand in for Showbiz reporter Richard Arnold on ITV Breakfast show, Daybreak.
The eccentric dance expert is the third celebrity to take over the hot spot while Richard, who recently competed in BBC dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing, takes a well-earned break from his early morning duties.
Last week Natalie Anderson, who plays Alicia Gallagher on award-winning ITV soap, Emmerdale, filled in for three days, bringing Daybreak viewers al the behind the scenes gossip from the world of television and showbiz, and former X Factor contestant, Rylan Clark took over a few weeks before her.
It is no wonder that Richard needs a short break form the ridiculously early schedule of breakfast TV, as well as providing ITV viewers with all the celebrity news on Daybreak, he also writes a weekly column for Hello and Woman’s Own magazines.
He is also a regular guest columnist for The People and The Sun newspapers and has been an established print journalist for nearly 20 years, beginning his career as a member of the launch team of phenomenally successful Inside Soap magazine before leaving in 1995 to pursue a freelance career. He has regularly contributed to numerous titles – Daily Express, Daily Mail, Closer (magazine) and TV Choice.
So, while Richard, who was eliminated from Strictly in week 7 along with professional dance partner Erin Boag, puts his feet up he can rest safe in the knowledge that his glitzy sofa spot will be well looked after next week by Spence, who said of the temporary position:
“I am so excited to be stepping in while Richard Arnold takes a break.
“There is nothing I like better than getting all the behind-the-scenes gossip from the showbiz world.
“January is already looking to be a very busy month with new celebrity reality show Splash coming to our screens as well as this year’s Dancing On Ice.
“I can’t wait to bring all the glitz, glamour, ups and downs and, of course, dramas to viewers when I start at 7.50am on Monday.”
