Former Corrie star Lucy-Jo Hudson – who played Katy Harris from 2002 to 2005, and who is married to Alan Halsall who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street – has told TV Times that she’s “really chuffed” to be working on Wild at Heart again.
Lucy also revealed that her character, Rosie Trevanion, goes back to South Africa to help out her “dysfunctional” family.
She said, “Her family is very dysfunctional at the minute, with everyone in their own little world…
“Plus they’ve lost Leopard’s Den. Caroline needs some back up and phones Rosie…”
Of returning to the show, Lucy said, “I’m really chuffed. I absolutely love being here.
“I was sad to leave even though it was the right choice at the time…”
TVT then asked if it’s true that Rosie returns with a big secret, to which Lucy replied, “It’s revealed pretty soon on her return, that’s all I can say!”
As fans of the show will know, Rosie moved to Cape Town with her husband so that she could study to be a vet, and of that plotline, Lucy said, “She has a year left until she’s a qualified vet.
“But she knows what she’s doing and this series proves that as she’s full on with all the animals – which I love!
“I darted a cheetah yesterday – you should have seen me in action!”
And finally, when asked if any of her family will visit her in South Africa, Lucy said, “[My husband] Al. He’s not had the chance yet because he’s been busy at work.
“My dad will probably come out again too. Even though they’ve been before, there are new animals on set so we’ll definitely do a game drive.”
You can see Lucy in Wild at Heart when it airs on Sunday nights on ITV1 at 8:30pm, but in the meantime, here’s a reminder of some of her final scenes playing Katy in Corrie…
