Manhunt Returns To ITV

Crime programme Manhunt returns to ITV1 for a second live 90-minute show later this month.

Following the first Manhunt programme, which broadcast last December, response from viewers giving anonymous information to the charity Crimestoppers, has helped police in securing an incredible four arrests (details in notes below) in connection to the 10 serious crimes featured on the show.

The programme led to Crimestoppers receiving their biggest response to date to a TV appeal in getting a staggering 9,000 calls in a two-hour period.

Mark Austin and Sarah Heaney will again host the show, which will profile 10 new stories of the UK’s most wanted, and appeal for viewers to help in finding them.

Manhunt is produced in conjunction with the charity Crimestoppers who will receive anonymous information from viewers via their phone line and website.

The 10 individuals that will be featured in this studio-based show are wanted in connection with a wide range of serious crimes including gun trafficking, drug smuggling, murder, rape, fraud, causing death by dangerous driving as well as more everyday crime - burglary, cashpoint fraud, a conman and woman.

Working with local police forces around the country these cases have been selected as some of the UK’s most hard to find individuals who have so far evaded arrest. The police have warned that in many instances they could be a serious danger to the public and all need to be caught.

A mixture of reconstructions, CCTV footage, dynamic studio items, interviews with criminal psychologists and victims will be used to present each case in detail.

Working in conjunction with Crimestoppers, Mark and Sarah will be appealing to viewers with information to call the show. All calls will be anonymous and will be answered by Crimestoppers call handlers on 0800 555 111.
