Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas turns 20! Our favourite covers!

It’s that time of year again. Christmas trees, candy canes, and Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You.’

It’s not quite December yet, but Carey’s now iconic track is already charting in the top 200 in an incredible 36 countries, and even more special, it was actually released 20 years ago this month!

To celebrate, we’re taking a look back at 20 years of our very favourite covers of our favourite Christmas song.

Michael Bublé
The swing king slowed down Carey’s hit a little for his 2011 festive offering, ‘Christmas.’

Mercedes (Amber Riley) bravely took on the song for ‘Glee’s’ 2011 special Christmas episode ‘Extraordinary Merry Christmas.’ We think her powerful vocals are perfect for the Christmas favourite.

Lady Antebellum
Country trio Lady Antebellum put their own twist on the pop song for their 2010 EP ‘A Merry Little Christmas.’ It was also featured on their full length Christmas offering ‘On This Winter’s Night.’

Cee Lo Green
Back in 2012, former ‘The Voice’ coach Cee Lo Green made the unexpected choice to cover the song for ‘Cee Lo’s Magic Moment.’

Big Time Rush
The Nickelodeon stars performed Carey’s hit in 2010 for their ‘Holiday Bundle’ EP. They also release a version with fellow Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove.

Idina Menzel
The voice of Queen Elsa in ‘Frozen’ gave Carey’s song a Broadway makeover when she featured it on her album ‘Holiday Wishes’ this year.

Fifth Harmony
Also taking on the song this year are US ‘The X Factor’ girlband Fifth Harmony. The girls version of the track is featured on the new ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ compilation.

Demi Lovato
Another US ‘The X Factor’ alumni, the former judge performed the festive song in 2012 at the annual ‘Christmas In Washington’ concert.

Miley Cyrus
When we still thought of her as Hannah Montana (and she was still welcome at Disney World), Cyrus performed the song for the 2007 Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade.

Jennifer Nettles
The long-time ‘CMA Country Christmas’ host gave the track a little of her country flair when she performed the song on the ABC special.

Ariana Grande
Doing nothing to squash comparisons to the legendary singer, Grande performed the track in 2012 for the 11th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Citadel shopping outlet in Los Angeles.
