Marvel sure have their fair share of hits on many platforms, they’re going to add to these over the next few months and one of those new creations will be Daredevil, which is set to hit Netflix in May. What’s even more exciting is the fact it will air under the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leaving crossovers in the future possible.
The series will star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, who is a lawyer by day but by night he’s out fighting crime on the mean streets of NYC’s Hells Kitchen! What is even more incredible is Murdock was blinded as a child, but uses his extraordinary senses to fight crime.
Now EW have reported some very interesting information when it comes to what we can expect from the series.
It has been reported that we won’t see Daredevil jet setting across the world, like with Agents of SHIELD, who are often in different countries in every episode. We’ll see Murdock sticking to his home roots of New York, it’s been teased that Daredevil is very much for helping the people in his neighborhood, where he grew up.
Despite the show both being in New York AND the MCU, don’t expect to see Tony Stark popping up anytime soon. The writers are set to explore a different part of New York City, away from Tony’s neck of the woods. Which is a good move from the show, as they’ve left open the possibility of an Iron Man cameo, without putting too much pressure on themselves.
One thing we’ve noticed about the Marvel films is they’re pretty family friendly, in the same report it discusses how the series will have more graphic content than usual Marvel creations. However, it won’t be pushing excessive nudity or violence despite being grittier than previous Marvel efforts.
