Masterchef star Gregg Wallace wants to work things out with estranged wife Heidi

Masterchef star Gregg Wallace has told the Sun that he’ll do anything go win back his estranged wife Heidi, vowing that he’ll happily go to marriage counseling in order to sort out the couple’s differences.

They split last month having been together for three years, and when the news broke, Gregg said, “I’m absolutely devastated.”

Heidi, who is Gregg’s third wife, revealed on Twitter that the pair had split. She tweeted “I can confirm that Gregg and I have separated. All amicable and still very close. He’s a wonderful man.”

Soon after, Gregg said, “I love my wife — I don’t know what’s gone wrong. She announced it on Twitter.

“Heidi is an amazing woman. She’s brilliant.”

He added, “We still talk to each other three or four times a day.”

But of what went wrong between them, Gregg said, “It’s all gone mad. It went wrong about three months ago…

“We knew there was something wrong. We want different things.

“We both have images of each other — I don’t know if they were right. I’m an awkward b****r. I’m demanding.”

Gregg also said that part of their problem was the amount of time he was away from home while working.

He said, “I like working and making money. I’m always thinking about what I’m going to do next. I’m driven.”

And of his new restaurant, Gregg’s Table, which is in Bermondsey, South London, he said, “I’m here all the time. I live here. Heidi lives in Whitstable.

“I’m always busy, always trying to build the business, do the TV.”

Gregg also believes his high profile could have contributed to the couple’s issues.

He said, “She’s never been interested in fame. She didn’t like coming to red carpet events.

“People thought she was interested in me because I’m famous, but nothing’s further from the truth.

“She says she’ll always be there for me. She wants to continue as my PA. She says she’ll work for me for the next 30 years.”

And finally, when asked about the army of female fans who bombard him with messages of an amorous nature, Gregg said, “I’m not interested in other women. Have you seen pictures of my wife? She’s absolutely stunning.”

Let’s hope they can work it all out.
