Matt Smith wants to write Doctor Who episode
Matt Smith has admitted that he would love to pen a full episode of Doctor Who.
The actor, who shot to fame when he took over from David Tennant on the hit BBC sci fi show in 2009, will reprise his role when the sixth series premières on April 23rd and told SFX that he would love to step behind the cameras one day.
He said:
“I’d quite like to write a script one day, because I’m learning a lot from Steven [Moffat].”
“You’ve got to be really good to write a Doctor Who script, so it’s a long way off, but one day.”
Smith has previously admitted that he has written his own Doctor Who stories and short scripts, to help him get into the role more fully.
“I’ve never really shown anyone things I’ve written,” he confessed. “I’ve got to get over that, if I want to be a writer.”
