McFly fan? Busted fan? It could be happening! Yes by the sounds of things and by the looks of the invite above 2014 could be the year of a McFly/Busted supergroup.
While Busted aren’t a current active band right now if you were a fan of either you’ll know they began roughly the same time back in the early 2000s.
You may remember back in September when McFly celebrated their tenth anniversary as a group in the Royal Albert Hall in London they were joined by Busted.
Now it sounds like that the two bands could be joining forces (for reasons still unknown) to form a supergroup. ‘McBusted’ anyone?
While of course it wouldn’t be a permanent deal our friends over at Digital Spy are reporting that the two bands will meet at a joint press conference this coming Monday (11th of November).
The “ultimate pop supergroup is coming” says the invite for the event and could focus on a mini tour for the supergroup for 2014 which let’s not kid ourselves would sell incredibly well.
Emma Willis (wife of Busted’s Matt Willis) will host the event while members of McFly and Matt Willis and James Bourne (Busted) will also attend the press event.
What is still unknown is whether or not former Busted member Charlie Simpson will take part in the live supergroup event after he left the band to form his own band ‘Fightstar’.
At present it doesn’t seem like he will be signing up for the supergroup but anything can happen.
You’ll also remember recently that Tom Fletcher (of McFly) and his wife Giovanna revealed that they were expecting their first child in a Halloween video where the pair carved “We’re having a baby” (pictured above).
The video follows in the creativity of Tom who performed various McFly songs (with changes to the lyrics) at his wedding to Giovanna last year which currently has over 11 million views and even hit the news at the time.
The band also recently released the video for ‘Love Is On The Radio’ which at one point sees member Dougie recreating the Miley Cyrus sledgehammer moment in her ‘Wrecking Ball’ video.
