McFly to sing ‘Do Ya’ Children in Need 2008 song

The producers of BBC’s Children in Need have announced that the 2008 Children in Need single will be performed by McFly, who will be donating all profits from the single to this year’s appeal.

The double-A sided single features the track ‘Do Ya’ from their current album Radio:ACTIVE, as well as a cover version of Rod Stewart and The Faces’ Seventies hit, ‘Stay With Me’.

Both songs will be performed on Children in Need on Friday 14th November.

Tom from McFly told the BBC, “We’re so honoured to be releasing the official single for Children in Need.

“We’ve performed several times on the live show in the past and it’s always been an amazing night with a fantastic atmosphere.

“Hopefully our single can help raise more money than ever for what is such a great cause.”

For fans eager to be among the first to get their hands on the new single, it’ll be available to pre-order on the night of the 14th as a two-track download from 7Digital and available to instantly download from Sunday 23rd November. It will be in shops from Monday 24th.

Every single copy sold will help BBC Children in Need in its aim to raise over £30 million to help disadvantaged children across the UK.

McFly will also be switching on the Regent Street Christmas lights from outside Hamleys in Regent Street, London, on Thursday 6th November 2008 from 5.45pm onwards.
