Meryl Streep was in such haste to rush to the stage and accept her award at tonight’s BAFTAS, that she managed to lose a show along the way.

The 62 year old actress from New Jersey, America, has been announced as the winner in the Leading Actress category and after getting over her surprised, quickly walked to the front of the venue.

However, as she climbed the stairs to the stage, the Iron Lady star lost one of her huge black Jimmy Choo stilettos. She walked on, stumbled before reaching the podium and then waited as Colin Firth retrieved her errant footwear and placed it back on her foot….just like a real life Prince Charming.

Sources backstage say the actress laughed afterwards:

“Jimmy Choo is going to kill me.That f*cking shoe!”

Somehow, we think they’ll forgive her.
