Michael McIntyre has reportedly signed a £1 million book deal with Penguin.

McIntyre book will be in an autobiographical style and will include details of his showbiz childhood. McIntyre’s mum was a professional dancer, while his dad was a writer on The Kenny Everett Show.

Add to this the fact that he has also landed a second series of his Comedy Roadshow on the BBC and its been a pretty good week for Michael.

“Even we were surprised at how well the show did this summer,” a BBC source told The Sun. “Getting over five million for a show with stand-up comics is impressive because often comics can divide people.

“The great thing is that Michael stitches it together so well. He’s likable and that’s exactly what we’re after on BBC One.”
