Michelle Collins Says TV Industry Is Ageist

Michelle Collins has hit out at TV bosses for being ageist in a recent interview.

The former Eastenders actress has recently auditioned for Desperate Housewives and told The Daily Mirror:

“Do you really want to see perfect-looking men and women all the time?”

She went on: “We all worry about getting older and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t. We are far more ageist here in Britain towards older actors, particularly women.

“Things are getting slightly better with series like Mistresses, which is about women in their 40s, but more needs to be done.

“Annoyingly, men are considered more distinguished as they get older, unlike us women, but there is no reason why we can’t keep ourselves looking good for as long as possible.”

When asked iof she had ever tried botox she replied:

“I’d rather not say – I’ve tried everything! Actually, I’ve tried everything except surgery but I do believe it’s a woman’s prerogative if she wants to have it.

“Compared to the UK, there are a lot more roles for older women in the States so that is where the work is at the moment.”

I’ve just seen Michele on TV and she has lost all natural expression on her face.
You are naturally pretty Michelle grow old gracefully, you look like a caracature of yourself at the moment.
