Miley Cyrus mentors Justin Bieber and tells him not to “become a joke”

Miley Cyrus and mentoring aren’t something you immediately think of being in the same sentence but it seems like at 20-years old the star is sharing her wisdom with Justin Bieber.

The ‘Wrecking Ball’ star has come under fire recently for her controversial video, her performance at the VMAs and her general change in personality. She doesn’t care though and will continue doing what she does because it makes her happy – and quite rightly so!

Miley Cyrus spoke with Rolling Stone magazine recently and spoke about Justin Bieber and said she’s warned him to not “become a joke”.

Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are quite clearly friends and the star – who has been in the spotlight a lot longer said she doesn’t want to see his true talent overshadowed and him turning into a “joke” because he always seems to be topless or is always “starting s***”.

When asked if the pair hang out at all Miley said:

“A little bit. But not really. I’m not much older than him, so I never want it to feel like I’m mentoring him.”

“But I do mentor him in a way. Because I’ve been doing this s**t for a long time, and I already transitioned, and I don’t think he’s quite done it yet.”

The 20-year old added: “He’s trying really hard. People don’t take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing.”

“I just don’t want to see him f*ck that up, to where people think he’s Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, ‘You don’t want to become a joke. When you go out, don’t start s**t. Don’t come in shirtless’.”

“But the thing is, I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he’s really, like, 12.”

Miley Cyrus performed at the iHeartRadio Festival over the weekend appearing to breakdown while performing her new single ‘Wrecking Ball’.
