Miley Cyrus was definitely one of, if not the biggest name of 2013. She grabbed all the headlines she could from her performance at the VMAs to smoking live on TV at the EMAs.
Miley certainly made sure she was the topic of every other conversation and we don’t expect that to stop as we progress through 2014 – especially as the singer is about to embark on her ‘Bangerz’ tour.
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ sensation will kick off her ‘Bangerz’ tour on the 14th of February in Vancouver, BC and the former Disney channel star has shared some of what fans might expect from the shows.
Earlier in the week Miley Cyrus spoke in a telephone press conference with members of the media and Cyrus spoke about the tour.
She said: “I’m a little bit of a hoarder. So I hope my fans become hoarders. I want to give them real things they can collect. I’ll have things falling out of the sky that most people would sell at the merch table.”
Miley also revealed that her shows will run for around 90 minutes and also said: “I want people to walk away saying, ‘OK, she did some things that were crazy, but at the end of the day, it was really about her voice,'”
The Hollywood Reporter are also reporting about eight things to expect from the tour and we’ve picked three that got us pretty excited.
- Feast your eyes on a massive screen. “That’s something I’ve actually had to fight for a little bit,” she said, most inspired by the visuals on Madonna‘stours. “It isn’t the easiest thing to travel with in the space that we’re using, and in some of the cities, my screen is actually too large … each city is going to be the biggest that it can be, and the best that their arena will allow us to have. Everything will always feel big … some of the stuff we’re doing is so dope.” And rather than wowing with onstage stunts, Cyrus will only enter and exit on a spectacular prop, focusing on singing entirely live in between.
- Self-parodies will make appearances. “I don’t have a hard time making fun of myself, so the whole thing is making the way people perceive me and doing that even more, be the character myself,” she said of the 2013 throwbacks present in the set list. “That’swhat I think I’ve been representing, more than anything, in the past year. Being fun and carefree, and that’s really what the show represents.” She did confirm, “We’re definitely bringing some kitties.”
- Special guests are guaranteed. “I have friends that worked on my album in all of these cities, so anytime I’m in the same city, I’m definitely gonna drag everybody out,” she said of Future, Mike Will Made It and other Bangerz collaborators.

Miley Cyrus is set to bring her ‘Bangerz’ tour to the UK later in the year and will have a few dates at London’s O2 Arena on the 6th of May before finishing in Birmingham on the 16th of May.
Despite what you think about Miley Cyrus, she’s controversial, she’s good at it and these shows are definitely going to be memorable and that’s exactly what she wants.
