Miley Cyrus tops the Official Albums Chart with her new album ‘Bangerz’

Miley Cyrus has already topped the Official Singles Chart this week with ‘Wrecking Ball’ and the young star has done it again with her new album ‘Bangerz’.

On Wednesday the Official Charts Company we reported that Miley Cyrus was leading the race for both her single and album and has became the first artist of 2013 to have both at the top of the charts at the one time.

Prior to Miley Cyrus achieving this (single and album at the top of charts), Olly Murs achieved the same last year with his single ‘Troublemaker’ featuring Flo Rida which was taken from his chart topping album ‘Right Place, Right Time’ which topped the charts last December.

Looking elsewhere in the Top 5 this week Chase & Status are in at Number (2) with ‘Brand New Machine’ while Arctic Monkeys are at Number (3) with ‘AM’.


Rounding off the Top 5 are Kings of Leon with ‘Mechanical Bull’ at Number (4) while Haim fall four places into Number (5) with their debut album ‘Days Are Gone’.

Looking at new entries in this weeks Official Albums Chart former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan is new in at Number (7) with ‘Join The Club’.

Her debut album album ‘Top Room At The Zoo’ only reached Number (22) in the charts last year before the album was removed by the shows producers.


Panic! At The Disco are new in at Number (10) this week with their fourth studio album ‘Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die’.

This weeks new entries in the Official Albums Chart are completed by ‘Crimson/Red’ by Prefab Sprout which is at Number (15), ‘The Paradigm Shift’ by Korn which is at Number (16).

Finally ‘Repent Replenish Repeat’ by Dan Le Sac is at Number (22), ‘We Need Medicine’ by The Fratellis is at Number (26), ‘One Breath’ by Anna Calvi is at Number (32) and ‘Boy Cried Wolf’ by The Feeling is at Number (33).
