The Official Charts Company reported on Wednesday that Miley Cyrus looked set to score a double this weekend in both the Singles and Albums chart.
Earlier tonight, it was revealed that indeed the 20 year old has become the first artist of 2013 to have both a number 1 single and album simultaneously.
Miley Cyrus, the former Disney Channel star has topped the Official Singles Chart with her smash hit ‘Wrecking Ball’ which is taken from her new album ‘Bangerz’ which has also topped the Official Albums Chart.
Miley only scored her first UK number 1 a few months ago when ‘We Can’t Stop’ topped the charts.
The star however fought off competition from ‘Bezerk’ by Eminem which is this weeks Number (2) and last weeks number 1 ‘Counting Stars’ by OneRepublic which is now this weeks Number (3).
Conor Maynard with ‘R U Crazy’ and The Saturdays with ‘Disco Love’ round off this weeks Top 5 at Number (4) and (5) respectively.
Taking a look at new entries this week in the Official Singles Chart the chart shows that Eminem is this weeks second highest new entry with ‘Bezerk’ which is taken from his eighth studio album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ which the UK can get their hands on next month.
Conor Maynard and The Saturdays are also new entries this weekend both entering the Top 5 while James Blunt scores his first Top 10 single with ‘Bonfire Heart’ which is at Number (6).
John Newman enters the Official Singles Chart Top 10 this week with ‘Cheating’ which is at Number (9). Meanwhile outside the Top 10 Justin Bieber is new at Number (14) with ‘Heartbreaker’ while Ylvis is this weeks highest new entry with ‘The Fox’ which climbs 22 places into Number (24).
