Movie News: Tyler Perry joins Ben Affleck & Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl
Tyler Perry has been revealed as the newest member of upcoming movie Gone Girl.
Reese Witherspoon’s film production company and 20th Century Fox recently bought the screen rights for the film for US$1.5 million and hired the author of the hit novel – Gillian Flynn – to pen the screenplay for the star studded project.
The movie will be directed by David Fincher, best known for his work on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network and it was recently announced that new Batman star Ben Affleck would join Jack Reacher Rosamund Pike in two of the lead roles. Today, it’s been reported that Perry will join the pair and play attorney Tanner Bolt.
The book centres on former writer and now bar owner Nick whose life becomes chaotic as his wife (Pike) vanishes on their fifth wedding anniversary and Nick eventually becomes a prime suspect in her disappearance.
How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris is reportedly in talks to play Amy’s ex boyfriend Desi Collins.
Reese Witherspoon will have co-producing credits on the film but it’s thought that earlier reports which suggested she would also join the cast were untrue.
Tyler Perry is an American actor, director, screenwriter, playwright, producer, author and songwriter, specializing in the gospel genre. In 2011, Forbes named him the highest paid man in entertainment; he earned $130 million between May 2010 and 2011.
