Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that he believes the villain he plays in the new Star Trek movie is relevant in today’s society.
Cumberbatch, who is currently filming the third series of the modern day twist on the famous Arthur Conan Doyle novels with co-star Martin Freeman, plays John Harrison in the new film, Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Whilst the entire country/world (apart from a few lucky Americans who already know due to a shipping error) wait with anticipation for this Saturday’s series seven finale of Doctor Who, it’s main star, Matt Smith, has been stripping down for his new movie role.
The star, who has been cast to play Bully in How To Catch A Monster, was pictured in yesterday’s Daily Mirror newspaper topless, sporting a rather impressive six pack.

In a recent interview for the Times newspaper, Caitlin Moran was invited to have Sunday lunch with the BBC detective star and his parents, actors Wanda Ventham and Timothy Carlton.

Benedict Cumberbatch has spilled the beans on his disastrous James Bond audition in a recent interview with David Letterman. He even went on to talk about tears on the Star Trek red carpet.
In a recent interview with David Letterman on his Late Show, Cumberbatch opened up about his failed James Bond video game audition – after he turned up in casual wear and started jumping around the room like a hyperactive 5 year old.

According to the publication the second instalment is set to be quite different than the first film which saw Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas), Neil (Blake Harrison) and Jay (James Buckley) holidaying in Greece after their exams, as this time they will be heading down-under for a spot of backpacking, reportedly!

Sherlock star, Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed that he had to beef-up, eating 4000 calories a day in order to get into shape for his latest role in the new Star Trek movie, Star Trek: Into Darkness!
Benedict, who has just begun filming for the new series of the hit BBC detective series Sherlock, plays the new Star Trek villain John Harrison in the new movie, due for UK release next month, as the story follows an ashamed Kirk (Chris Pine) as he takes his Enterprise crew on a manhunt after Harrison, described as a “one-man weapon of mass destruction”, puts his evil plan to destroy Earth into action.

There’s sad news this morning as BBC News have announced that actor Richard Griffiths, who starred in the Harry Potter movies as well as TV drama Withnail and I, has died aged 65.
It’s believed he passed away following complications after having had heart surgery.
BBC News adds, “Griffiths enjoyed a long career of success on film and on TV, but also on the stage where he was a Tony-winning character actor.
“He was best known for playing Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films and Uncle Monty in Withnail and I.” Read more & comment »

Former Gossip Girl star, Blake Lively, has been cast to play Mary Austin, the girlfriend of Queen front man Freddie Mercury, in a new biopic about the late singer’s life, the Sun newspaper reports.
Lively, who played Serena in the hit US teen drama, will star alongside Borat star, Sacha Baron Cohen, who is believed to have been cast as Mercury. The comedy actor is reportedly taking singing lessons ahead of starring the untitled film, in order to do the part justice.

With the opening of Sherlock Star, Benedict Cumberbatch’s new film, Star Trek Into Darkness, getting closer, new pictures and a promo trailer have been released, as well as Cumberbatch’s character’s name finally being confirmed!
As we reported last month, the villain that Cumberbatch is set to play has been the subject of much debate and speculation, with some saying the character’s name is ‘John Harrison’, whilst others claim that it could in fact be the notorious Star Trek villain Khan.

It has been nearly eight years in the making, but Steve Coogan is finally brining the role of Alan Partridge,the most famous man in Norfolk, to the big screen.
A teaser trailer was released last week featuring Partridge mulling over ideas for the film’s name- Personally ‘Chap of Steel’ has more of a ring to it than Alpha Papa. Ideas of Alan relocating to America or a siege at the radio station were supposed plots, but according to Co-creator Armando Iannucci the plot will be set entirely in Norfolk, revolving around Alan coming to terms with changes at his radio station as it is taken over by a giant media corporation.
